The Mega BBQ Brekky Wrap is $13.30 and 4,027 kJ, the largest single breakfast item on the Hungry Jack's menu. A warm toasted tortilla stacked with double the flame grilled sausage, double the egg and cheese, plus a hash brown and smoky BBQ sauce.
At 55g of protein this carries more than any burger on the lunch menu and more than most people eat in a full dinner. It is genuinely the highest protein single item on the Hungry Jack's board outside the five piece tender boxes.
The energy is where it demands attention: 4,027 kJ is about 46% of an adult daily intake before 11am. Fat is 61.8g and saturated fat climbs with it. This is a wrap that replaces breakfast and lunch rather than one that starts the day.
Physically it is a challenge. Two sausage patties, two eggs, cheese and a hash brown inside one tortilla makes a wrap thick enough that the tortilla is working hard to hold it. Cutting it in half is not optional in practice, and most restaurants serve it that way.
Sodium at 1,611mg is high but proportionate, and carbs sit at 48.4g, identical to the Big version, since the extra content is protein and fat rather than starch.
Who it suits: someone eating one meal before mid afternoon, anyone coming off a night shift, and anyone who trains in the morning. As an ordinary breakfast it is a lot.
Pair it with black coffee rather than a side, or drop to the standard BBQ Brekky Wrap at $9.70.
