Hungry Jack's Questions and Answers

27 questions about the Australian menu, prices, restaurants, nutrition and rewards — answered with real figures from all 165 menu items and 489 restaurants, not with "check their website".

Locations and Hours

489, across all 8 states and territories and 459 suburbs. Victoria has the most at 115. The full store locator is here.

Most open at 6:00 AM — 73% of them do. Closing has no single answer: the largest group closes at 10:00 PM, and 34 never close at all. The full breakdown is on the hours page.

34 restaurants serve around the clock in the dining room and 102 run a 24 hour drive thru. Each restaurant's own seven-day schedule is on its suburb page.

Hungry Jack's states it is "We're open most public holidays across most stores, including Easter, Anzac day and Christmas Day." Christmas Day is the one to plan around — standalone restaurants and drive thrus trade on reduced hours while shopping centre sites close with the centre. Every holiday is listed with this year's date.

No. The 10% public holiday surcharge was removed in 2016 after customer complaints and has not returned — unusual in Australian hospitality, where 10 to 15% is normal on a holiday.

400 of the 489 have a drive thru and 217 have a playground. Playgrounds are concentrated in the standalone suburban restaurants rather than shopping centre or airport sites.

Nutrition and Allergens

A burger, chips and a soft drink usually lands between 3,500 and 5,500 kJ, so 40 to 60% of the 8,700 kJ average adult daily intake. The kilojoule calculator adds up any combination across all 165 items.

The Southern Style Tenders Mega Feast at 20,077 kJ — 231% of a day's energy in one item. The full top 30 is on the calculator page.

Yes — a plant-based range that has run since 2019, including a Vegan Cheeseburger and plant-based Whopper. 6 items are in the range. Note that plant-based patties are cooked on shared equipment. The vegetarian and vegan menu is here.

We publish Hungry Jack's own declarations for 107 items in a single table on the calculator page. Every item is prepared in a kitchen handling wheat, milk, egg, soy and sesame, and Hungry Jack's makes no allergen-free claim for any product.

Selected Hungry Jack's stores now serve a limited Halal certified menu at specific stores. It is not a national certification — participation is store by store and the list changes, so check the current list on Hungry Jack's own FAQ before relying on it. We cover what that means in practice here.

Ordering, Deals and Rewards

No. Hungry Jack's is explicit: "Sorry, no. One voucher per transaction." Vouchers also do not combine with other discounts. Splitting a group order into separate transactions is the ordinary way around it. The voucher rules are set out here.

Not for the regular menu — Hungry Jack's states that "Pre-ordering prices are exactly the same as counter prices." The app pays off through its exclusive deals and the daily Shake & Win prize. How the app works is covered here.

A game on the Hungry Jack's App that awards a prize every day. One shake per day. You have 30 seconds to accept the prize and 30 minutes to redeem it — so shake when you are near a restaurant, not on the couch.

Complete your app profile including date of birth. The voucher is issued on the birthday itself rather than when you fill the profile in, so adding it the day before will not produce one immediately.

MasterCard, Visa, PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay, with AMEX and JCB at participating restaurants only. Gift cards are handled at the register rather than in the app's pre-order flow.

Yes. A gift card is a payment method and a voucher is a discount, so they operate independently — apply the voucher, then pay the balance with the card. What each card value buys is worked out here.
