For a younger child that is a sensible portion rather than a token one. The 6 Nuggets Kid's Pack at $11.55 doubles it and suits roughly six years and up.

On the burger side, the Hamburger Kid's Pack and Cheeseburger Kid's Pack are both $7.65. The hamburger is the lighter of the two at 1,192 kJ against 1,347 kJ, and the cheese is the entire difference. Since the price is identical, it comes down to preference.

The cheese does one practical thing worth knowing about. It holds the burger together. A child eating a plain hamburger loses the patty out the back more often than not; the melted slice glues it in place. That is a small argument for the cheeseburger pack that has nothing to do with taste.

The side choice is where a parent has the most influence on the total. A kids side salad keeps any of these packs genuinely light; small chips roughly doubles the meal. Offering the salad as a straight choice rather than as a substitution you have to request is a small design decision with a real effect on what children actually pick.
