Jack's Brekky Roll is $10.50 and 2,477 kJ. A sausage patty, premium bacon, egg and cheese in a roll, and it is the closest thing on the Hungry Jack's breakfast menu to a proper Australian bacon and egg roll.
The difference between this and the brekky wraps is bacon and format. Bacon adds a salt and smoke note that a sausage patty alone does not give you, and a roll gives more bread and a softer bite than a tortilla does. At 34.7g protein it sits just under the wrap at 37.2g.
Carbs are the notable figure at 30.9g, which is lower than either brekky wrap despite this being the item with the most bread in it. Fat is 36.9g and sodium is 1,050mg. At 2,477 kJ it lands almost exactly level with the standard wrap.
A roll eats differently from a wrap and the trade is real. It is more comfortable to eat sitting down, since the fillings sit rather than compress, and less comfortable on the move, since egg and sauce escape from the sides. Anyone eating in a car is better served by a wrap.
Who it suits: anyone who wants bacon at breakfast, which is most people. It is the traditional order on this menu and the one that needs no explaining.
